nordic delight festival

it was cold. it was nordic temperatures in fact. and the venue for the inaugural nordic delight festival couldn't have been more appropriate! (a big warehouse-type space with rooms off rooms with nordic-esque art dotted around.) 

i turned up a little late, but just in time to catch the delights of daniel norgren (SE) - who set the bar high (as far as i was concerned). i only discovered the sounds of this singer-songwriter the week before the fest, when i was doing some digging into the line-up. and i literally was blown away (see my preview article here, and some quirky questions that me and bas belmont threw at him and he was kind enough to spit out some answers for before his trip to utrecht here). his actual set-up is minimal - him and a guitar sat behind a basic drum kit, with his bandmate anders on double bass positioned alongside. and, boy, does he know how to rouse a crowd with his unique blend of blues and raw rock-and-roll. 

he was my definite highlight, followed closely by burning hearts (FI) and phantom (FI). i wrote some articles about these three performers - with the help of each of them and/or their entourage for nordicvibes.com (click the links here to see/read/look/enjoy):

and other than that, i'll let some photos do the talking. (i didn't get chance to dig out my camera for daniel's show, so one phone pic will suffice, plus please do check out the amazing photos by petra wester norgren in the link above). the last band i saw was lydmor (DK), who was a last minute treat for me before i headed home.
